i know this is at least 2 weeks old. but i just needed to post this fashion FAILure. i know she’s like the new face of LV or whatever, but FORREAL??? madonna, which of your TRUE friends told you it was ok to arrive in THIS ensemble??? (also, are you color blind? because you KNOW that shit don’t even match, but hey – at least you got them hot LV thigh boots on).

and speaking of them LV thigh boots – poor riri had to go with this plan b outfit by D&G bc mamadonna bullied her out of them…

its a bloggy blog world

last night i linked up with my girls to have a nice jamaican style dinner at neg-ril – OMG… DEEEELISH!

in attendance were (L-R): me, vernie (parisandpascual), misslawn (hellz-bellz), chico (misschico), and wendy (nitrolicious). it was a grand ole’ time with terrific ladies, each with our very own style, opinions, and of course, blogs hahahaha!

and, no, we didn’t meet through blogging lol. i met lawn a LONG time ago before i moved to ny and it just so happened that the friends i met upon nyc arrival were chico and vernie – her friends! then i met wendy along the ways and we all became friends yay! the end.

i had this amazing idea when i woke up this morning that i would try to get some finger wave action to my hair.

it was a failed attempt because i was in a rush, so i opted to hiding the half disaster with a flower. and then i had to change outfits so that the flower could mesh well with the whole attire =)

fashionista vs stylista

so chico and i had a wonderful short conversation on being fashionable versus being stylish a few days ago…

my thing is. every one can be a fashionista (as long as you got the money or the proper hookups). but NOT everyone can be a stylista/stylish.

you ALL know what i’m talkin bout…

there are the girls/guys that sport high name brands from head to toe and call it a damn day. these are your fashionistas.

then there are your girls/guys that rock whatever the fuck they find lying around and STILL come out looking like a million bucks. these are your stylistas.

my problem with the fashionistas is – MOST OF THE TIME – they ain’t got NO fkn STYLE whatsoever! like, REALLY? you’re going to spend HOW MUCH MONEY on those chloe boots and then wear them with an ABSURD attire and think you deserve to be on the satorialist?

no thanks, pass. moving on.

but when i see people who can throw on a thrifted tee or EVEN something from forever21 and twist it so you say to yourself, DAMN, now why didn’t i think of wearing that tee as a skirt or that cardi as a scarf, or whatever whatever whatever. now THOSE people i give mad props to for using their creativity and spending less than their typical lunch money on the whole fit.

the key to being stylish is never having to think too much.

my favorite saying (and i quote myself lol):

being stylish means you can rummage through ANYONE’s closet and still put together an awesome outfit for yourself.

now THAT takes skill, NOT money.

i forgot what else i was going to say to further argue my point… so i’ll end it now before i continue to rample off topic.
