the adventures of yoshi

…on being a rebel

Posted in Food for Thought by yoshi on July 26, 2009

i thought having a cast was going to be cool. i was going to have all of the twilight cast sign it and get sympathy from everyone.

i started getting heat blisters, hives, couldn’t type, couldn’t write, couldn’t wear all my normal clothes because it was too big to fit in armholes, COULDN’T DO SHIT.

this morning, the itching got so bad, i need to be released.

i took scissors, pliers, razors and hacked my way out (i finally forced the bf to help me after a few attempts because he was afraid i was going to slash my arm off, despite the fact that he was totally against my rebellion).

although my arm is still a bit stiff, its MUCH better than it was a few weeks ago. i’ll still keep a sling on, but as far as covering up my arm with unbreatheable (i think i just made up a word) materials during this humid NYC summer, NO THANKS.

i don’t know why they didn’t give you a fibreglass cast? i mean i still needed a chopstick at the ready to cure my itchies but it was WAAAY better than a plastic one. boo on your docs!

trippy that they didn’t give you a fiberglass one, but it’s probably because they’re gonna give you a shorter/lighter one next ….well that was before you decided to cut it off
i’ve done the same thing…it’s even gnarlier on the leg
