Philippines: Part 1… Makati and Boracay

Posted in Travel and Trips by yoshi on May 17, 2010

hey everyone!!! i’m finally back from my 2 week adventure in the philippines! its been about 12 years since my last visit, and this time around, it was just myself and the bf so the experience was so much more memorable and way more fun!

i’d like to thank my grandma, my parents, and most especially my aunt for being our personal tour guide – bringing us to the most amazing places EVERRRRRR.

**i’ll be providing a written recap and photos afterward… there’s just way too many photos for me to include lol**

the bf and i started our trip with a 14 hour flight to narita japan. YAY! my first time to japan! too bad it was only their airport =( womp womp woooooomp.

we killed time by watching movies and playing trivia challenge… i won the first game, but john won the next 2 games. PURE LUCK grrrrrr.

when we arrived in narita, i just HAD to try their mc donald’s menu and ordered the terriyaki burger… it wasn’t that great =(

3 hour layover and another 4 hour flight, we finally arrived in manila!!! we were greeted by my aunt and the smell of the tropical air (just as i remembered it) then got to our hotel in makati – new world… BEAUTIFUL hotel and the friendliest staff.

if and when you go to the Philippines, it takes getting used to having people calling you ma’am and sir wherever you go. SO cordial and friendly. the last time i was here was about 12 years ago,  there has been MUCH development made and i was really quite shocked and happy far along the philippines has come since i left!

the next day (i forgot to take pics) we went to the infamous GREENHILLS shopping center. basically an indoor flea market i suppose. i bought a lot of stuff… for myself bahahahhahaa =X sooooo cheap and i love to TAWAD (bargain)!! we had to call it a night early because we would be leaving for BORACAY the next day just before sunrise.

to get to bora, you can hop on a 1 hour flight to their new airport which is way closer than their other one. then hop on one of those boats with the two outriggers on the sides – pretty fun and the view is peaceful.

when we got to the SEAWIND resort, the bf basically headed straight for the ocean lol. the sand, if you haven’t heard, is like BABY POWDER under your feet and just as white! i am not exaggerating at all…

we stayed there for 2 nights and 3 days.. ate well, swam, got massages on the beach for dirt cheap – even went parasailing! the last time i went to bora, there were no paved streets, let alone a MALL strip – WHOA, much has changed… i enjoyed it though! but it was super hot.

i’ll stop jabbering away and let you enjoy the photos… *i used my camera, my aunt’s camera, and the bf’s camera because i didn’t have enough memory =X so pardon the photos out of order lmao
