because i’m fat: PURPLE YAM
my good friend and former co-worker, emma and her baby egon, paid a visit to our new place this past weekend! we live closer to each other now so i’m uber excited to be spending more time with her, especially since we no longer work together.
we got hungry and decided to walk over to our fav purple yam on our way back to her place (she too moved to a new apartment, but only a few blocks from her old one hehe).
we share a TON in common so its no wonder we both ordered the exact same thing: chicken adobo and chai tea lattes =)
VERY yummy, they put coconut milk in their soup… i think i’ll try that the next time i cook adobo heheheehe
so if you’re ever around prospect park, park slope, kensington areas – you should definitely give it a try!
hi yoshi! nice food picx! cool that you posted on purple yam. i’ve been curious about that place – they used to be ‘cendrillon’ when they were in soho; it was one of the few ‘nice’ filipino places in nyc. if i ever visit my friend in queens, i’ll have to stop by your neck of the woods to try purple yam!
yea cendrillon was good too – a bit overpriced though. purple yam isn’t in queens – its in brooklyn! =)
Holy shit. I needa take a trip to NY to check this place out. I don’t know of any gourmet-ish Filipino restaurants in San Diego. they’re too authentic and casual, haha! But nomz, the dessert menu looked SO good!
Dang, you were in my ‘hood and I missed you.
I have been reading your blog for a bit, but haven’t commented. I know you’re busy, but I want to see cat blog updates. I’m a cat lady too.
hi yoshi,
i realized my mistake after i pressed ‘post comment’. what i meant was, if i visit my friends in queens, i could check out purple yam in brooklyn. ‘i also meant that ‘your neck of the woods’ was brooklyn since isn’t that where u live? sorry for the mixup.
by the way, i love the gray mini dress!!!! looks good w/tights and boots!
stay warm! it was in the 80’s today in san diego!
looks fucking ono!
