rode my moped to luella’s 1 year bday partay!

Posted in Friends & Familia, Mopeds by yoshi on May 30, 2011

woohoo! finally hopped on the moped for a quick ride over to the tunney’s to celebrate little luella’s 1 year birthday!

had to adjust a few things though (and sadly, someone stole my puch odometer, but i guess it looks pretty awesome still). johnny helped fix my front brake and i fixed the idling issue.

the thing about mopeds is that they’re unpredictable. you never know if its gonna stall out or why it won’t start. that’s why having a proper tool kit at all times is a must. other than that, they’re fairly easy to┬ádiagnose.

made it to the house and joey pep got there the same time – he took a spin too hahaha – he’s like a pro!

then we headed to the backyard where the grill was already going with burgers, skewers of awesomeness and sweets galore (there were a lot of kiddies around!) so cute!

moped update!

Posted in Mopeds by yoshi on February 28, 2011

i love this photo…

moped update! i had bradley over at orphange mopeds hook my bike up with a few new things: i got it lowered, put a new kit on it to keep up with cars now, got some new pedals, new wheels, new handlebars, new muffler and a new kick stand. now if only i can make it more environmentally sound…

its been several months, but owning a moped is proving to be quite a handful – especially an unregistered moped. i have a lot of things to take care of before i can really ride this thing around safely and legally. so please bear with me =)

here’s a pic bradley sent me of my newly lowered bike:

moped adventures…

I finally finished putting the parts together and the bf helped me bring it to the Orphanage to make sure it was all set up and ready to go. They let me know that the one piece was all dirty so that’s why it wasn’t running (although, I have to be honest, John and I never even made an attempt to start is bahahahha).

Not only will they be helping me to get it up and running, but I’m changing a few things like the bars and getting new tires.

I had no idea how to get the exhaust on… so I left it off to let the Orphanage fix it hahahah!

Let’s just say he’s not going any faster than I can walk – the tires were all flat.

Should be up and running by the end of this week! Yay!!!

finally! my moped is here!

now… to start assembling the rest of the parts… should be interesting lol!

a few updates i’ll be making to my bike (with the help of the orphanage guys):

  • get lower handle bars
  • drop the whole bike – shorter fork and back shocks
  • kit it up – new carburetor and exhaust pipe (and stuff like that)

soon enough this will be me. moped. and cats.

inspiration: for the new magnum…

Posted in Bicycles, Mopeds by yoshi on October 11, 2010

i was chatting with my boy al this weekend (as he kept me company while i slaved at work), haven’t spoken in a looong time, and we were just talking about my new moped that’s on its way. here are a few inspirational photos that we exchanged for how my magnum should transform into… hehehehe…

now, i don’t know much about motorcycles like my girl jayne, but i sure do know that i love the vintage, classic look of cafe style mopeds and motos – oooooooh wee!

so consider this post more of a “this looks nice, keep note of this color/style/part” versus a “tutorial,” because i’m not gonna lie, i don’t know jack shit about these bikes other than the brand and the style – but this will change sooooon enough!

i love the simplicity of this this magnum. colors. bars. yes please:

wowwwww. much like the above magnum, i LOVE the custom color of this. i highly doubt i would ever do this to mine, but kudos to the owner for this bike. everything is on point, down to the chain.

need i say more?

you know i’ll always be a fan of all black. check out the tilted pipe. ::that’s what she said::

this one is a bit too bulky for my taste, but i dig the black and white and chrome. plus, you can’t even tell its a frkn moped!

now for more of the fun stuff: inpirations…
