Uniqlo Flagship Store Opening NYC Recap
Last Thursday evening we celebrated the opening of Uniqlo‘s flagship store right here in NYC on 5th Ave. I was amazed at how HUGE the new store was! Over 89,000 square feet, it is the largest Uniqlo in the world! Upon arrival, we were ushered into the store and up the escalators where we took in a view of multiple floors of product. Japanese guests gave their respects to Uniqlo staff, bowing and shaking hands – an awesome sight.
We walked around the store and I was just in awe of how much product Uniqlo has, the fall/winter collection is definitely very affordable – their Japanese selvedge denim was marked at $9.90?!?!?! (Just for one day however lol!). I saw a few peacoats that I’m going to get my hands on when I go back!
There were large containers full of sake for the ceremonial sake blessing as the owner of Uniqlo, alongside Susan Sarandon, made a toast to the new store and all its guests. We drank the smooth sake from wooden “glasses” – the aroma was beautiful! Bumped into a lot of friends and also made some new ones!
Aside from the fire alarm that went off, the celebration went off perfectly and all the guests left with smiles on their faces and a few souvenirs =)

Vans DQM Party with Suicidal Tendencies @ House of Vans
Last night Vans yet again threw an amazing party at the House of Vans to celebrate their new store with DQM – The General Store.
So many people came out to enjoy free drinks thanks to Vita Coco and the Brooklyn Brewery, free food by Korilla BBQ (yes, we all know they cheated womp womp woommmp) and the Meatball Shop (nom nom nom).
Louise and Deana rolled with me and we held our ground once Suicidal Tendencies took the stage and the mosh pit began – lmaoooo! So fun! “Elbows out!”

Adidas 10th Annual Fanatic/X @ Chelsea Piers Recap!
Again, apologies for the late recap on this hehehe! I’ve been pretty busy at work =X
After our brunch with TK (previous post), Rich and I hopped in a cab and rolled out toward the soccer fields by Chelsea Piers to watch the tournament. Some of the teams that were playing were Supreme, The Smile, Miss Lily’s, and Opening Ceremony – to name a few.
Brent and Neil spun pretty much all day so all of us enjoyed the sun and danced the day away. So fun! =)

CLAE 10 Year Anniversary with LTD Event!
A few nights ago friends and fam celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Clae Footwear. I can’t believe its already been 10 years! Congrats!!! We came together with LTD (thanks Mike!) at the Hotel Rivington’s Penthouse, with Modelo serving up the beverages. From the roof, we had a perfect view of the sunset. The heat wasn’t soooo bad, but after a few drinks, I was definitely feeling the dog days of summer bark at me.
I ran into so many friends I hadn’t seen in years – mini reunion!

Frank151 Chapter 45: Philippines Event Recap!
Last night a bunch of us went to Brooklyn’s “The Jungle” venue to celebrate the release of Frank151’s Chapter 45: Philippines issue. Friends, including Willy Santos, Sarah Meier, Crooks & Castles and more were featured in the book. The Frank team also travelled to the Philippines to experience first-hand our culture and our people.
We enjoyed Filipino food served buffet style, along with lechon, catered by Victory Restaurant from NJ! There was an abundance of chicken adobo, pancit, and some other dishes that i don’t remember the names of lol. They also served turon and halo halo for dessert! *Every time they turned on the ice shaver, the lights would go dim bahahahhaa – lights went dim and we screamed “halo halo time!* bahahahaha
So many people showed up to support, including the entire Crooks fam, friends from LA, and even the Philippines =)
DJ’s Geng Grizzly, Jasmine Solano, and Neil killed it as usual =P

impromptu mermaid parade and coney island visit…
This past weekend the bf and I decided to head out to Coney Island. It was my first time. Yes, I’ve been here for almost 6 years and I’ve never been. Shush. Anyway, we rode over and found ourselves barricaded on the street. John kept going and I got off the street because I found it strange that we were the only ones on the street as spectators were behind the fence… hm.
All of a sudden I see boobies with pasties and bare ass cheeks. Oh duh. Mermaid Parade bahahahaha! Very similar to gay pride parades nowadays.
We stayed a bit before heading to the beach to catch some sun…

After a nap on the beach, we hopped right back on our bikes and hopped on the train – BAHAHAHAHA, too lazy to ride home. We got off and ended up at Purple Yam where we stuffed our faces with tocino sliders and chicken adobo – nom nom nom nom nom….
